It is the North American affiliate of the World Economic Forum, a non-profit Foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland, under the supervision of the Swiss Federal Government.

The World Economic Forum USA's New York offices acts as the global headquarters for the Centre for Global Industries, the group responsible for leading the World Economic Forum's industry activities.
